My reading challenge for 2024 ended with two books shy of 50. Within the last year, I read some brilliant works however, I only posted a few. But the last book I read in 2024 is a must because it embodies more than a “page-turner.” If you haven’t already, “The Devil in Pew Number Seven” by Rebecca Nichols Alonzo. The gripping devastation that shattered a family was climatic but what foreshadowed the event was how the book closed. More than a testimony, Alonzo articulates the power of absolution. She exemplifies how one can come to redemption through another’s act of forgiveness. I would pass this book on, but I know I’ll read it again. It’s that good.
